Hello Folks
After Long pause I come back with new era of my travel.
Sorry I am not regular on writing blog but as in Hindi Says “Der Aaye Durust
Aaye”. So let’s start with Delhi/New
Delhi chapter.
After lots of fun in Mumbai I moved to Delhi for Flyover
project. In Delhi I lived in Rohini area
it is on Ring road and on border line of Hariyana. Rohini is far from happening
places such as Cannought Place, Hauze Khas etc. One thing which I really
appreciate about Delhi is that it’s a City of Gardens. Every society or group of societies has their Garden. Near to
my place there is Huge garden named “Swarna Jayanti Park” popularly known as
“Japani Park”; spread in 250acres of land. Sometimes I go there for morning
walk. Its clean, has sitting benches everywhere, small lake, boating. Also it
has original one fighter plane but might be scrap. Garden opens in morning till
10-11am and in evening from 4-5pm to 7-8pm. Closed in afternoon. If anyone near
to Rohini area I recommend to visit there.
WORK
:-
Talking about my
work. It’s a 6km Flyover project so its
new experience to me to work in between road and that too ring road which is trafficked
area of heavy vehicle; Risk and safety is utmost important in this kind of
project. My previous project was in open ground under the wall’s so here more
risk and responsibilities. For a month, I worked in night shift and its
horrible experience; Every week there is
at least one major accident . Sometimes there are consecutive 3-4 accident out
of that some are fatal accident. Most accident happened due to drunken drive
and over speed. They hit barricading iron sign board. In many cases driver lost
their legs. In one case three men (vegetable
seller) driving a auto type vehicle you can say chariot where scooter engine
and rickshaw wheels fitted. While driving; one wheel got detached; 2 men’s
sitting behind fell down on road and got smashed by Overspeed Truck/Hyva which
cause them instant death. Apart from the horrible experiences advantage of this project is; I can easily
spent my time by going here and there and not get bored because of crowed,
shops, malls etc around.
CLIMATE
:-
The climate of Delhi is not good when its summer the
temperature reaches 47Degree and you can feel you are in hot furnace. When it’s
cold you can’t work due to shrinkage of hands and invisibility due to fog. Rain
is not that much bad. It’s not too heavy that’s negative point. The typical food of delhi Chole n Paratha or
rice and Rajmah (beans) I tried once but I like momos most….
PLACE
OF INTEREST :-
Talking about fun part;
Like Mumbai I was unable to make any couch surfing friend to spend my lousier
time due to place and transportation limitation. But my enthusiasm to
discovered the city not a single inch decrease. So some Sundays I went to sit
one day Vipassana course in Bhogal area and on some Sundays to discovered the
city; I visited the places like lotus
temple, Rajpath, national Museum, India
Gate etc.
Lotus Temple :-
The Lotus temple is replica of -------------- built by Bahai community. I don’t know much about this community but they sound nice and you can say its another form of religion; Worship good quality of all religion and also some meditation involved. The area covered by lotus temple is spread in some acres with beautiful garden. The main structure has Hall surrounded by chairs and something or nothing in centers (as they believe all religion is same). People can sit there and worship their faith. One can easily spent their time with family sitting and playing games in the garden. One can easily reach there by Metro.
Kutub Minar :-
Marvelous Mughal architecture, but one thing which shocked me is the Ashoka’s Iron pillar in middle. Something is engraved in brahmi script and I am sure its some message of Ashoka to his people. Might be that place related to some Buddhist shrine or something like that but Mughal came and destroyed whatever was there and built their own structure. Well Its history leave it. But yes one can easily spent day there.
India
Gate &National
Museum:-
Everyone knows about India gate and president house so not
mentioned much here but yes the Gate premises closed after 5.30pm & police
will asked you to leave.
National museum is
just closed to India Gate; the important of this museum Is that it has Relics of
Buddha. Once I and my Nepalese friend meditate in museum near relics. It was
AMAZING experience. After that on special days like Buddha Purnima(full moon) I
went to meditate there with relics there were some Asian tourist, Nobody bothered/disturbed
;)
Red
Fort
Red Fort is in centre of city everyone should visit there,
its crowded on weekends; It has many thing to see inside, fort has large area
consist of gardens, king meeting place, special rooms etc so check yourself,
better higher tour guide to explain history. There is light show in night so
check before go which days it happened I didn’t attend that one but it could be
good. I went there with my parents had great day there. My father said look Big
kings raped of money from people built massive structure but at the end it goes
in vain and ultimately goes to the peoples as their picnic spot Anicca!!!!
Hauz
Khas :-
It’s amazing to see a nice wonderful park with big lake in
middle of the city. In hauz khas village there is park with some vegetarian
animals ;) deer’s peacock etc, ducks enjoyed swimming in big lake, nice jogging
area. If anybody wants to breathe fresh air after tired of Delhi pollution one
must go to that park. Apart from nice park hauz khas is much more westernize,
western type of restaurant’s, café, pubs, and night life. My Friend Ajit & Paula took me there
through their friend ;) if they won’t took me there I would have missed this
wonderful place.
Vipassana
:-
In Delhi there is
regular course on Sunday at Bhogal area. One can easily reach via
metro (violet line) check details.. I used to go there on almost all Sunday.
Also there is one Buddha Vihara in pachim puri west where regular
morning & evening daily group
sitting done. There is one group in yahoo for delhi vipassana group.
Near to Delhi there is one center name Dhamma Patthana(recite) in Sonipat, khamaspur village at Hariyana State but its near just 1-2hrs. This center is exclusively for old student and only long courses,STP, SPL course organized. In that place Buddha recite Satipatthana Sutta. I was curious to know exact place where he recite sutta but I didn’t found anything. The center is wonderful like Hotel. Wonderful place.

Apart from these places; Delhi Cultural dept has their
website delhievents.com, one can easily find what’s happening everyday in
Delhi. Through this I was lucky to enjoying musical events such as JAZZ
festival where artist from many countries came and played JAZZ beautifully. Once I attend Indian Classical music fest.
where the Padmabhushan winner personality who was 106 years old sing some raga.
It was very nice to quench the thirst of music and it was first time for me to
enjoy such musical festival.
Delhi is capital of India but it also has negative image due to Gang rapes; and I think it’s because of rising prostitution of female in day and shemale in night and that too opened. One can guess easily or they call you frankly ;). I think Delhi is not good for foreigners might be due to behaviors of guys’ towards blond girl. But all are not same so choose wisely.
I really had Nice time in Delhi specially to invite parent
to fulfill their wish to see Delhi and TajMahal
